View Full Version : Duplicating in Maya with coinstrains

I want to duplicate a mechanical arm in Maya and here is quick description of my problem:

I have mechanical arm with joint(not Maya bone system) at the end of arm and another mech. fingers "growing up" from that joint.

Joint(wrist) is Point and Orient constrained to arm and several chains of fingers are Point and Orient coinstrained to Joint(wrist).
Some Attributes defined by SDK affect another Rotate/transf. of fingers chains

So, when I want duplicate whole arm I came across to problem.

I duplicate it, so I have another undependent arm but conatrains not work(there are so many setting for several joints so I dont want to set it up again) or work in bad way

or it work but affect the orogin arm (not instance)


My goal is to have another arm - the same undependent copy of first one with functioned constraints

Uff... I hope it is clear (sorry for poor English)

maybe if you duplicate with input conections.....
