hey, thanks man, i'm glad you like my character, he doesn't look as nice in the demo, cause the new render images, i used something call HDRI that my friend just showed me how to use.

realistic !!:bounce: i like the skin texture but i think u can more detail the armor texture !:thumbsup: and MAYBE change the eyes:cool: .But this creatures is very cool !!

ya the armor got wash out abit by the lighting, originally there were more scratches and dirt ,i'll do anoth close up render tomorrow. and yes the eyes suppose to have a glow on it .

thankyou, i just change the format at my link, so you dont need divx to wach it. so if it didn't work before try again now. i 'm planning to rerender my treeguy's rotations with the new lighting, so it looks more real, and maybe add more animation

Now thats how armor is supposed to look. The textures in this model tell a story all by themselves.:beer:

How did you do the intertwining branches? All geometry or was it textured and displacement mapped.

Are You planning putting him in some environment? He's great character, but desperately needs some place to live. White plane is not good for him...
I like the design of the armour, this face on the knee... nice touch, but metal looks bit plastic-like.
Now this is really cool!

I wonder how you modeled that chest. Is it subdivision or mostly texture?

Great character, Silly! I really like your texture work too. I'll download your animation when I'm in work tomorrow. I'm on a crappy modem at home.
The only crit I have it that the loin-cloth thingy looks a little bit "out of place" on the render without the armour. It would probably look better without. However, it works well on the armoured version.

the armor- ya I tried to make them look very beatup with the bump map,and the spec, so when lights shines one it you'll see tons of scratches.
the body and the chest, it is geomentry, i modeled every little branches but the are all one peice , and then i texture the wood pattern on and the shadow , thats why they look like they are going under and on top each otehre. and i think it looks like a painting style cause i hand paint all my textures. i'll post some wire frame after i render them out and some texture maps!
enviroment, in my demo reel i put him in a snow kinda plavce, so i might change it later or somehting, i dont have any ideas yet
the contact , ehhe i'll take a look at that , cause i do want people to see my name ehehhe i'll fix it! thanks!!!

I'm downloading the demo reel now, %13 percent done, I love the way you've done the branches creeping along the ground and into the armour, very original and cool. I wish I had half your skill and inspiration :)
I remember seeing this as a WIP, it's come out great, keep up the good work!

I haven't checked your demo reel yet, but that is a beautiful piece of work judging by the still!!!
The pose and armor(in the still) remind me of the scene from "The cable guy" when Jim Carrey, and Matt Broderick battle in that medievil restaurant, anyone know what I'm talking about? lol

nice model there. one of the better concepts ive seen. in the style of middle-earth that is. you should articpate or are you already joined the challenge.
if not you should. fits perfectly otherwise.

you really should enter it, i think this concept as it is now really fits the challenges discription.
a new race for middle-earth. well fits perfectly right with al the nice armor and sofort.
maybey some corrections. more inperfict things like scratches and i think the head on the knee armor is a bit out of place but thats personal style i think.

Wow. That is an awsome model reel. I love almost all the demo reels that I have seen from VFS. (I'm in term 1 at VFS right now. :thumbsup: )
Maybe it's the lighting, but i'm surprised no one has commented on the bend of the right leg yet. It looks pinched to me, like the calf is being pulled in too much.
And why is his left foot so big? Maybe due to lack of DOF, is it suppose to be sticking out closer to us by a lot?

great job man...
your reel has a very artisic feel to it...the music is a perfect choice...my main concern is some of you traditional artwork is hard to see...also if you would like someone to contact you I suggest that you make your text much easier to read...also it is a good idea to post your contact info at the start as well so companies can just pop in your tape and get your info...
keep up the great work...overall i found the reel inspiring and will compare mine to it when it is ready to ship :thumbsup:

Well maybe so, but we have to remember, it IS a tree creature, so it doesn't necessarily matter so much about anatomical fluctuations. I see what you mean about the pinch, but again, maybe a tree creature's leg would bend like that! ;)
I'm quite interested to see a post of the textures.

I think, if anything, the face-part of his legarmour is looking just a tiny tad lowrez. Or blurred, rather. Ah, idunno, just how I see it.
Saw your demoreel too, while the content was pretty nice, I gotta say I was ever so slightly bored. It's somewhat long and sometimes it felt like you were rotating around a model for the third time. Maybe I'm just an impatient bastard though.
But still, damn kickass idea with the branch-guy, and very very well executed. Damn tasty renders.

glad that there are still people checking out my post , i haven't touch 3D for at least 4 months cause i;'ve been working , doing illustrations and designs for I, ROBOT.
anyways, hehe YES! i agree that the demo is abit boring after the opening ehe its a modeling rell, but if i make another one i'll make it more interesting!
modeling offer. um i did had 2 offeres for internship but then i have offers for illustrations job that pays, so i took the drawing job. but i'll definitly contact you about the game project thanks guys!

Just watched your demo reel. The modeling looks very good. I think you need to work on the lighting alittle bit though. It was a bit too dark.Couldnt make out all of the detail.
