how did you all start and how long did you need to come to your level?
im kinda stagnating i think, which books should i buy?

Hey man. Its ALL about the practice. Start off by modelling small things that you're familiar with, and work up to bigger things. Also, there are TONS of tutorials out there, do as many as you can. If you've got work you are working on, post a WIP on sites like this one. The comments/crits you'll receive will really give you the push you need.

i see you have lots of questions hehe...i learned quite a lot by watching the VTM's from,check them out. i'm sure you'll like em,they're the best beginners tutorial i've seen on the net,they explain a lot of things other tutorials don't
