Just wanted to pick the brain of any polytrans users. Im going polytrans to maya. So im exporting it out as a wavefront obj file, and when i import it to maya, eveything works great! except it triangulates every poly. Now this is frustrating because you can see all the hard edges (faciting) on say a cylinder. So you wanna smooth it but triangulated causes it to not smooth to great.
So instead of going through and taking out the extra cuts to de- triangulate it, is there anyway to stop this from happening? is it a polytrans option or maya import option? i dont see to many options to choose in import attributes.
Any help would be great! busy at work, this would cut down my time alot.
ps. i have a bought copy of polytrans and maya 7
