Good Luck Everyone and thank you for all your advice and comments.

This is the photos that were used. The alien model was an old zbrush work I did.

This is my entry for the Atlantis Challenge

I know I have to explore more concepts but I'm worried I might not have enough time to produce a finished piece due to my late entry. I'm more concerned on completing this challenge so hopefully I can refine this concept as I go.

Thank you for viewing and Good Luck to everyone.

great concept. I like composition as well, this have a lot of potential, think about what kind of architecture will you use, and talking about micro composition how those ruins are going to be there, good luck

thanks for the comments, this will give me enough confidence to move forward with this concept. I will strongly consider what you said about the kind of architecture and micro comsposition I will be applying.

nice composition, good colors.. good luck

good start i like the colours.

Not much done really, just tightening up the sketch and still unsure of the look of the city.

The ruins are eerie and mysterious.

Composition-wise, I prefer one without the silhoutte in the middle. The way I see it now, it stops the flow of focus of your subjects. (maybe it's too early to say but that's how I felt for now, more blurring would help I think to bring in more focus to the ruins)

Just my 2cent! Keep on the work! :)

I know it's pretty late to make some design changes at this stage, but it was bothering me so I did. I have already started to put some photo elements in which I will post hopefully soon.

Done some work on the rocks but need to refine it more. I'll do that later though because I really need to get started on the actual city itself, I've delayed it enough.

Did some work on the buildings but still need a lot more to it. Just showing where I'm up to. I removed the cave foreground because it's been bothering me.

Here is my final. I still want to work on it bit more but i'm worried if i miss the deadline. If I can squeeze in a few more hours I might update it. Is that possible?

great crazy architecture ... a little more "power" (contrast) would help the image to pop.
good luck.

Very nice. I'd like more contrast punch to it too. It has a great bottom of the ocean feel to it.

maybe the best one I've seen in this contest. By far the best underwater effect I've seen. The only problem is that it's not reading too photoreal to me, I think the pros might not like of excessive illustrative quality in this :S

08-05-2006, 07:28 PM
somethin different! nice!

08-06-2006, 06:21 AM
Wow, so unusual building structures  Fantastic! Creates a feeling that Atlantis was built by aliens from other worlds!! Great! Good luck!

Inlakechh and Miss Julie: Thank your for you nice comments, and as for the contrast issue, I have been playing around with that throughout the whole challenge as tempting as it is to put that contrast up I believe it will lessen or even take away the effect of it from bring 'underwater'.

Chinnha: Thank you, I wanted to do something different and hopefully unique.

Ranath: I appreciate your nice comments and your opinion about being 'photoreal'. I did aim for that look but the good thing is I learnt a lot from this challenge which I can carry on future projects. I wanted to work on it a bit more especially on the small buildings but time and other works prevented me from doing that. I also think that you have a very strong entry so Good Luck!!!.

Mpavel: YOU HIT RIGHT ON THE DOT! That was my intention with this project and that is why I put my old alien head zbrush model as one of the fallen statues. Good Luck on your entry as you too have an impressive piece.

Good Luck to everyone and thank you for your comments and opinions.
