View Full Version : blend shape turning inside out during blending...?

I used a nurbs torus as a primitive mouth. I made the default position flat, then arranged the CVs to make it a smile. Unfortunately, when I made the blendshape, the blending seems to scale the torus inward, then back out again as the smile begins to shape. The first and last pose of the blendshape are fine, it is just the inbetween or blending that's messed up.

(and yes, it is set on local)

any ideas?

Did you freeze transform on the blendshape target? Maybe that's why?

at some point -- because the torus was already zeroed out before trying the blend shapes -- i don't know what the problem is.

maybe someone can try this real quick and see if they get the same problem:

make a torus; duplicate it; make one torus a flat shape (retaining volume), and the other a smile face (retaining volume) by moving the CVs; then create a blend shape with the flat as the default; try blending...
