I wouldn't have placed important architecture to corner of the picture cos that leads eye out of the pic.. so maybe you want to change that. Otherwise good luck in the contest!

I got a little bit shocked, when I realised what date it is and when the dead line is, so I hurried to work.
I was very nicely suprised, how it was fast and easy to do. Looks like I'm not gonna miss the deadline!:D

Here I go:

I have used a couple of photos I took on vacation in Croatia right for this purpose.
I haven't touched the buildings yet.

So what do you guys think?

I'll keep you posted.

I wish everyone good luck and not to miss the deadline!

Added foreground detail.

Continuing with terrain.
Any comments?
Tomorrow I hope to finish off the terrain and start the architecture.

08 August 2006, 09:24 PM
Looks pretty good! =) perhaps I´d increase the underwater feeling on the foreground. Good luck!!:)

I'll probably try something with the foreground.

08 August 2006, 07:50 AM

Finishing off the terrain:

08 August 2006, 11:38 AM
The terrain is more or less finished.
It took more time, than I expected...

The next step is going to be architecture.

What do you think?

08 August 2006, 12:41 PM
you really captured the underwater feel.

08 August 2006, 11:28 PM
Thanks, vshen.

Another update here.
I wasn't very sure about that foreground building, so I hid it just for now, I'll check it later.
I have tried many different buildings there, but I can't get it sit in there. We'll see.
So I painted the main city instead.
What do you think?
I'll continue in the morning.

Excellent work! Congratulations on winning third. I like this piece overall, but for some reason, the water in the right background, and the rock surface in the left foreground really jump out at me ... they look great! The water really conveys depth and vastness, and the rock has great texture ... I've seen rock like that many time before. So while those details aren't the focal point(s) of the image, they add a lot to it. Fantastic! Looking forward to seeing more.
