View Full Version : Drawing more dynamic poses?

07 July 2006, 08:56 PM
Hey everyone,

I've never posted in this section before, but seeing how all of you make such great progress, I tought would give it a try.

My problem is that I never seem to be able to draw very dynamic poses. All my characters ( mainly comic-style ) look very rigid. Can anyone give me some tips or techniques to draw more dynamic poses like they have in American Comics?

Welcome! :) I recommend checking out the books of Burne Hogarth ( He drew the Tarzan comic series for years and was famous for his teaching and books. Most of his titles include the word "Dynamic" and that pretty much describes what he teaches through his books. You should also check out the work of Glenn Vilppu (, famous for training traditional Animators.
