Welcome aboard! :) Great to see you in the 50 Portraits thread, and I hope to see a lot of work here! :)

I particularly like your female study and think that the general sense of roundedness is quite good. It shows you are aware of the principle of forms that breathe, which I talked about a little here (

It would be nice if you might tell us a bit about your art training and background. :)

Thank you Rebecca,

its very nice to see that you spend
a lot of time to view every single Thread
and give each member some personal
feedback.Much preciated.

My art training...hmm..simply said: "i had none!"
I am drawing since i am about 6 years old
and continued since with a few time offs.
Actually i was more into Comics/3D later until i realized
that even for Computer Graphics and 3D it is
very helpful to have a solid 2D Art Background.

So i am trying to get better and better at it...
and beeing creative in every way - 2D/3D,
Game Leveldesign...even long as it is creative.

So much for my Background...

You're welcome. :) Nice to hear a bit about yourself, it really helps. Well, learning is a lifelong process, I feel lucky to have the forums here to extend my own education.

Charming sketches! :) Try emphasizing the roundness and completeness of forms, especially in quick sketches such as these. You might want to check out the Drawing Manual by Glenn Vilppu:

A great resource for learning how to do great Gesture Drawings. :)

Thank you Rebecca!

I had some time today for some anatomy studies.
I followed an advice by another member to use 2B - 4B pencils,
so i bought them today and digged my old sketchbook with that
rough paper out.

So here they are:

Make sure to see the companion thread:

Very inspiring work in the SPOTLIGHT thread. Keep pushing your drawings, I think you have a great start here. But one can always get better. :)
