i'm playing with the xsi demo and want to see how you apply an auto rig to a character ? I want to see how hard it is to use the auto rig and then animate a character before I make a decision to purchase XSI.

Green animate tab -> Character -> Biped Guide

edit to the shape you need

then Green animate tab -> Character -> Rig from Biped Guide

Options will pop up ( lots of them :) )

then Select you Mesh
Green animate tab -> Envelope -> Set Envelope
it will ask you to select the envelope object with the middle mouse button select you Rig you made ( not the rig guide Best hide that with the "h" key )

weighting is some work at first but it does get ALOT quicker once you learn the interface:thumbsup:

as soon as the Rig guide loads up you scale and edit the points to fit your model
then you uses Rig from guide to create the Real Rig to you envelope to.

Make sure to envelope it to the "Envelope Group" found under the Biped Rig (It's a group). That way, your character will only be enveloped to the bones, and not the control nulls, etc.
