Hey all and welcome to my anatomy thread.
Here you can find some recent figure drawings and character doodles that I did.
I'll try to update regularly, it'll be great practice :bounce:
some figure drawings I did using photo reference:
various concepts and doodles:
I really like your art.. :3 and your shading style.. very sweet...
so whats your reason to creating your anatomy thread.. planning to do some anatomy studies :3
hope to see more work from you.
Lovely drawings! Somehow after seeing the coloured concepts, I want to see those doodles in color. Some really nice ones. Great to see a new thread like this. I will sure be lurking here :)

Thanx a lot guys! :)
@Lute: yeah that's the reason. I had life drawing classes a few years back in art school but I never took em that seriously. Back then I didn't realise the importance of a good solid understanding of human anatomy and experience in life drawing, I just thought they were stupid because it wasn't the 'style' I wanted to do anyway.
Years later I finally realised I had to pick up life drawing again in order to improve my skills, so that's basicly what I'm doing now, I'm starting all over again haha.

You have a really interresting and unique style. My favorite is the third one down. It has some nice atmospheric qualities about it that the others do not posses. The first one's head and neck seem a bit strange to me...something about the angle. I don't know. Just some thoughts.

Thank you :) yeah I see what you mean although I can't really figure out what the problem is exactly. I'm pretty satisfied with how the third one down turned out aswell but I think her head might be a tad too small now that I look at it again.
;-; where's the art
have u been drawing lately :3 want to see more stuff :3

Great to see your Anatomy Thread! :) I have only just seen it (have been out of town for a bit) and it's fantastic to see your work. I particularly like this piece:
Definitely looking forward to seeing more of your work!

I like that piece a lot too. Although I do like your non figurative work too. Very nice usage of shading too. I think it works really well when you use shading to describe the form rather than line. I think that is one of the reasons why the smoking picture is so good. That and a strong sense of proportions.

Hey thanks a lot guys, these are actually my first serious attempts at figure drawing. I've had life drawing classes a few years back, but those were always quick sessions so you could only do some quick impression skecthing without a lot of detailing (which were actually quite usefull though)
@Lute: I'm kind of in the middle of some schoolstuff I need to take care of right now (scripting/programming stuff ugh!) so I haven't found much time to draw this week, but I should be able to next week.
Thanks for watching :)

Here's a close up of a character design (based on a doodle I posted in here earlier) I was working on a few weeks ago. I thought it would be nice to post this and maybe show my painting process. I started out with a black silhouette, blocked in some colors and put in some details, no ref used BTW.

Looks quite nice so far, I would say that the face needs more depth, and the clavicles need to be more symmetrical. But, I know this is an early stage, so I look forward to seeing this piece develop. :)
