View Full Version : New website for Freelance artists and employers

06 June 2006, 11:14 AM

Just though i would tell you all about a site I've just released. It's been made with the intentions of making it easier for freelance artists and employers to hitch up:)

It's still in its beta stages meaning it is all pretty much complete, but there might be a few bugs on it. (

Could you please digg a review of it if you like it:

Nice effort! hopefully it wont charge anything from the poor artists in future :)

Add CG news feed to your website from site like Cgsociety, cgexplorer or CgIndia - gives your visitors something for time-pass while hunting 4 job :D

good luck! nice work.

i'm interested in cooperation and i like your offer. gonna mail you now.

Wow, thanks for the support guys:)

No, i intend not to charge artists, it would defy the point of the site lol. Also i believe incurring a charge on employers would also lower the ammount of users etc.

It was my intentions to add graphics related news on the front page in the news section on a fairly regularly basis (1 - 3 times a day)

All i ask of you is to please spread the word. The site is going to be a real challenge to get off the ground, but i think it will really fly if i can get a few users. If anyone can help with any advertisement, please inform me, i'll happily link to your site if you link to mine.

Thanks again

Simon's got competition! :D

Everyone loves a bit of....friendly:rolleyes: competition lol. I now know which website i shall be buying out first on my quest to world domination :D

who is simon? (sorry, i don't frequent these forums regularly) I would be interested in getting in contact with him.

miloshz: yep, i got your e-mail. You're the second professional (?are you?) designer who has emailed me with portfolio and details offering to help with the site today! I shall sleep on it and get back to you in the morning, thanks for the interest

Keep it coming you guys. Everyday since i launched the site, unique hits have at least double, normally tripled or qudrupeled recently, and thats after 4 days. However there seems to only be a few people signing up. Has anyone got any suggestions?

E Has anyone got any suggestions?

Advertise everywhere, make a system for easy updates for people signing up, make the site the slickest around. Look at monster, awn, and eehhmm.. other freelancer sights. Basically make it really easy, for people to join/sign up, add there cv, work - add a submiting form. I'd look at say flickr, or these new 'cuddly' sites, make it feel cosy. Add testimonials on the front page, etc.

Put the ads at the bottom or on the side - they feel like buttons or menu options atm. Theres way too much text going, on, make it easy for people to get what the site is. Look how clean monster is: - simple tabs, direct you exactly where you need to go.

great! yup... i'm pro designer. at least people pay me and hire me. ;)

regarding your site... eek has wrote you excellent tips. some excellent tips, i must agree. ;) i've got excellent books and ebooks on internet marketing. BTW, you also gotta have a well done SEO. adding news is a must! it will keep people coming back. that's what you need. in every business, the best customers are regular ones. and, yeah, basically you run business. take a look at truly great business forum. take a look at this one as well i'm sure you've already seen famous is worth taking a look.

i'm glad someone is trying to make difference and stand out from the crowd.

if you need any marketing/business advices, count me in. ebusiness and marketing is actually my second profession.

06 June 2006, 11:45 PM is a good although very old site.

06 June 2006, 03:28 PM
Thank for the help guys. Now you mention it, the site does look rather scary and intimidating. I think a redesign is called for.

Also, although i'm "running a business" it's intentions aren't to make money. Sure money is a bonus, but the site has been made for the community and for artists and employers, not to make money, so i don't really see it as a business, more as a....hmmm.....favour :) I don't understand what major benefits there would be from running is as if it were a business (getting a business plan etc, getting people to do finances, advertising etc.) But on saying that, since the site has been launched, a lot of my time has been consumed checking it, advertising it and basically helping it progress, so i'm open to any suggestions and/or free help.

Job search - 'Preferred Software', I see each software listed twice. Is that a bug?
PS: I am using Camino on OS X.

fixed that now, for some reason, all the entries in the database were duplicated :S all sorted now, thanks.

If you're already signed up, or you intend to sign up, could i ask you post something in the forum, just to get the conversation going please :)
