Well, this worked nicely. I managed to do a character study, play with some watercolor brushes I had made, and get a sketch done all with one fell swoop. This is a character of mine from an online game. I'm going to be using him for some self-promotion pieces so I wanted to sketch around some things with him anyway. When I did, this fell out. This was done on Photoshop 7, a Wacom, and around 2 hours. (wasn't really paying attention.)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Grondhammar, I love the colours in the stylised and beautiful, I feel like I could touch it.

This is mine, I was thinking "Hmm what could I draw that is green" and then I looked up and there was my cat lying on my desk, staring at me with his huge green eyes... I just had to use him as a reference.

05 May 2006, 12:44 PM
Howlinghorse and Vyse - incredible :)

05 May 2006, 12:57 PM
Yeah, indeed, incredible! How do you make that tiny details, the leafs, branches and grass. Do you make those leafs with a normal bruch?

05 May 2006, 01:44 PM
Thx ''^_^

@Dekuboy, Jup, for the details, I use most of the time a normal brush, with pressure only set to size and a fixed opacity set to 80% (flow 100%).
Then I begin to add strokes to a dark background or silhouette, allways colorpicking to get adequate values.

I also switch all the time between a brighter foreground- and a darker background color (I made in photoshop a makro for that, to do the switch with a keystroke on the keyboard)
to add shadows under the leafs and highlights on them.

lol, no its just someone i know and i don't have a photo of her. She was the maininspiration for the characterdevelopement on my sorceress of my journey entry. And.. yep, she's cute (the real girl), glad you like the lil sketch i made.:)

05 May 2006, 05:34 PM
Photoshop CS2 & Wacom - 1 Hour

Sort of inspired by the song "Greenwaves" by Secret Garden. It is interesting how the topic green inspires more female figures than male.
