http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i298/silverwyverncdm/rockstar.jpg40-ish minutes. Painter, Photoshop. Pretty glitter boy. Oh so dangerous. ;)

SilverWyvern: Heheh, I can already see the bras flying in his general direction :D
Here's my experimental illustration, Photoshop, 40min:
(no photo references, just sketch, dirt texture and some filter :)

yeah I know, it's really cheap.

15 minutes, PS, Wacom

05-23-2006, 10:53 PM

This was all I could get done in 45 min. Hand hurts.
If anyone has any crits, fire away... (And I'm well aware that the instruments are way out of proportion :D)

dj, nice action, I had a friend who did just that... problem was, he didn't have a backup guitar for the rest of the show.

davidsk, I was tempted to do just that, ha, glad you did so it's in the thread somewhere

Mine just got weirder as it went. 50 mins in Painter 8, mostly on the silly feather lines

05-24-2006, 12:54 AM
painter - I don't know how long...

05-24-2006, 03:38 AM
Photoshop, Wacom, 35 minutes. I would have gone the full 45, but I didn't think I could hit a good stopping point.

05-24-2006, 05:46 AM
Line art was done at 30 minutes included below:

Final product after ~2 hours. Photoshop + Wacom;

AStott - good lighting effects, nice composition. I like the first person view
Gord MacDonald - very stylistic, strong pose
GrondHammar - yup, weird. Good coloring on the feathers and the colored spots are nice.
djtrousdale - nice action shot. I can hear the singer screaming in this one.
davidsk - someone had to do it! Simple line work is effective.
authentic - nice character design. Good attention to details
daw - good form; The dark leaves a lot to the imagination, which works well in this picture
Ashton - disturbing. Muscles are well defined and shaded. Scratchy brush work gives a nice edge to the piece.
ChristinaRH - silloutte is good, but more work could be done on the shading... also you might try painting out the outline next time.
Her0d - good command of form on this, particularly without a photo-ref. The dirty filter fits the topic. I like the contrast between fairly realistic shading and the heavy white lines.
Silverwyvern - great character. Background is also well done and fits the mood of the picture well. Colored shading is nice.

Awesome Rock Stars everyone!! AShton wow unbelievable...davidsk I was going to do the same thing lol

I went over this is what I had after 50 mins. I was playing with his face too much lol..done in PS7

05-24-2006, 12:55 PM
45 minutes so far. Maybe I'll finish it.

I espescially like her0d's, silverwyvern's and ashtons.
gordmacdonald: nice impression.

05-25-2006, 01:03 PM
Edit: Uuuh, found a great smokebrush, just had to try it on this image. Took me
now 1 to 2 minutes more.

05-25-2006, 03:51 PM

i just have a thing with monkey's. Need more time to finish it.

vyse_soa: mysterious atmosphere, great!

This is my first daily sketch posted here - Painter - crappy tablet - 40 minutes

05-26-2006, 01:26 PM
I'll try this one because it sounds fun. LOL.
I just did a line only sketch with PS in 43 minutes.

Everyone colored and stuff, but I didn't had time... to color since I had to think about the outfit and I ha no idea of what i was going to do to begin with. Well, that's it.

See ya.

My favourite rock star!
Anyone know him? :P

This took 40 minutes, with reference, but only a thumbnail sized image which made it darned hard to get him right... luckily I know his face quite well heh. It's still not quite right though, I will have to do more on it.

05-27-2006, 12:01 PM
