Call for Entries
(San Diego Asian Film Festival 2006)

Attention animators! San Diego Asian Film Festival 2006 will once again be showcasing animated short films produced by Asians in a 100-minute all-animation program. All forms of animation (traditional, claymation, stop-motion, flash, CGI, etc) will be accepted for consideration. Films by all animators pertaining to Asian issues and themes will also be considered. Only VHS & DVD preview formats are accepted and the formats for exhibition are Beta and 35mm. For more submission guidelines and entryform, please surf to ( A Best Animated Short Film Award will be awarded with prizes to be determined.

The year 2006 will be SDAFF's 7th year of celebrating the best in Asian Cinema in sunny San Diego. The goal is to give Asian filmmakers an outlet to showcase their work in "America's Finest City," while fostering support for the independent film community. Last year, SDAFF screened over 130 films in 8 days with many industry celebrities in attendance. The all-animation program was a resounding success with over 21 animated shorts in the official selection with the poignant "Public Bath" taking the Best Animated Short Award. Please help make SDAFF a success again by submitting your animation and spreading the word to your friends and associates who may also be interested.

Important dates:

Good news.. we have extended our deadline for another week (June 16), so you still have time to submit your animated short to our festival. All the info are either in the previous post or in the links provided. Again, the direct link to submit online is: (

We especially love supporting student animated shorts so get those submissions in. In past years, we've screened many excellent shorts from Ringling, USC, UCLA, CalArts, VFS, Academy Of Arts, to many excellent official selections and award winners from past SIGGRAPH's. Check out last year's Program here: (

It should be another great year. Thanks for listening!
