View Full Version : simple wire splice

when I splice the appropriately colored wires, the cable still won't work.

I sucked the cable into a vacum cleaner, and it destroyed a simple volume control that was in between that splice so I'm just simply trying to splice together without that control....

its a really long one, and I thought I'd save twenty bucks just re-connecting it.

is there something I'm not getting here?

Oh comon' !! this has gotta be simple, whats up with my stupid wires?

Well, can you get your hands on an ohm meter? That would be a good way to tell which wire is which, and if the vacuum damaged anything else. Either way, since it is a sound cable, you should probably solder the wires rather than just twisting them together.
