Ahhhhh!! when will it end....though i guess this could be interpreted in other ways and not just with the king arthur legend :)

Isn't this similar to the poem about the Lady of Shalott?
05-07-2006, 05:14 PM
hmf... Okey, so I guess Roberto did NOT read my reply last time^^
but I think I'll draw this, but make it about something else... like, Ophelia or sumthin...
Christina - research is a big part of art job:)

I am aware of that, but I simply can't make myself sit and read for two hours, so I can make a 25 min sketch, if you know what I mean:p
but for this topic I can, cuz it's a no time limit one... but the rest of the ones earlier the week.. naaah...plus, he didn't say it has to be from Camelot did he? and Ophelia is a lady in the lake:)

Hmm, i have a vague idea what to do. But i'm working and i dont get to go home till 6. Oh well, it will give me time to sketch something.
No entries so far? Well, here is my interpretation - not necessarily Arturian :)

Well, i'm really not a fan of all these legends and i really have no idea what role the lady in the lake takes part off within the story. My roommate is an Uber fan of mist of avalon and arthurian legends and she still could'nt give me a clear description on who the lady in the lake was. So i just made my own interpretation of it.
I would love to get feedback, it is always very mutch apreciated

Cool entries
I really don't know how long it took me, maybe 2.5-3 hours.
I just couldn't get her right and was painting and erasing all the time...

Painter about 30 minutes. Figured I give myself a time limit since I didn't do any of these over the weekend =)
KDW,Crimsonstring,Herod: Cool speed paints! Reminds me more of "Cabin By The Lake" ;)

Her0d- Phenominal pic. I love that you put a slightly different spin on the Ladies coloring, and your pic just pops out at .

Photoshop, 1h 30minutes.
Inverted or not inverted.. Had to make a decision, i'll end up editing my post later..
Crimsonstring, I think yours is my favourite because it looks like underwater footage, where the colours are a little overexposed and the focus is just out. There's a compliment in there somewhere.

Just a mermaid:
2 hours, Painter.

oh mine is horrible... Wish I could do a better job with this digital thing.. meh..

hehe audit, good way to measure time! Hadn't thought of doing that. Goldberg usually takes 40-45 minutes, unless someone is really playing with the timing. An hour 20 would give a new meaning to "lente"!
05-09-2006, 05:04 PM
@Grondhammar - yup, I usually measure sketches by music. Currently I'm cycling these variations...My recording is pretty luxuriant (Anglela Hewitt), I checked and it lasts 1.18.30. It's VERY slow in some places, but extremely beautiful. Otherwise I'm listening to Stravinsky, Steve Reich and Sigur Ros. Mmmm. :)

Nothing fantastic, just simple. Hehe.
Photoshop, 20 minutes.
This is kinda boring...I have another idea though, hopefully I can get to it.
05-10-2006, 03:09 PM
That's quite the mix, audit :) I generally listen to something (like another Steve, Steve Roach, or Rachmaninoff, Fauré, Coldplay or Supreme Being of Leisure) but never thought to keep track of daily sketch time by it.
Would be interesting to find what others listen to -- surely something that's been threaded before.

Got another one done in the car today (in the car for 12 hours, hehe). This took about 2 hours in Photoshop.
Crap, I didn't realize I was too late for this. I checked the voting thing, but I guess I missed it. Oh well.
