[if this is in the wrong place, my appologies, and please move it.]

my question is can i use a copyrighted piece of music in my demo, as i am making no money from it?

from what i've seen around, yes you can use any music you want. you could argue that the music doesn't help sell the piece at all, so you're not using it to make $$. but then again you are using it to possibly get a job, which will make you $$. so iono, lol i'd also like an answer to this :scream:

but the general say about it is just use any music, because employers usually turn it down anyway.

any thing you want just credit them at the end should be fine. no one in the industry takes a blind bit of notice anyway's

I know that here at school anything copyrighted must have permission, but I've heard that this is only because my school is a private, for-profit business.
