View Full Version : energy burst wave

I'm looking for help on animating an effect that I'm having problems with (3ds max).
Heres my attempt to describe the scene:
Picture several thin and long panels (rubber perhaps) stacked parallel one on top of the other.
I need to animate a wave running through them lengthwise, not any old wave but some sort of energy burst or invisible force, like a burst of air that would disrupt these panels on one end and travel to the other end. It would leave turbulance in its wake and gradually dissapear or get smaller as this wave passes and eventually settle in a different position(I need to be able to control where these panels settle) . I guess a fluttering effect in slowmotion is another way to describe it.
How would I go about setting this up and what tools would achieve this in a quickest and most convincing way?
Thanks for any help in advance.
