Ok this is scary. I've been working on the exact same image as you have !!
Mine doesn't look that good though. And you were first so the rights belong to you I guess. Great work

But it's kinda freaky don't you think ? I mean, Blarney Castle is relatively famous, but to think that we worked on the exact same subject and idea at the same time !! :D

Here's what I did so far. I didn't get around to finishing it. I'm just starting to explore they joys of matte painting. The masks aren't tight enough, and I haven't played around with the levels yet.

Yes, it's a lot freaky you did the same image...
The mask really needs improvement.
Try Layer-Matting-Defringe to the layer... It should help...

When doing curves to the original plate, make sure you are using the Curves Adjustment Layer, so you can paint in the Layer (white and black) to create some lights there.

The far left building's perspective is pretty far off. It looks like it was shot with a much shorter lens than the rest of the picture.

Sorry mate, but that does not look like the Ire.

hey patrickkrebs welcome, well I think the first one is the best, you need some attention to detail when doing a matte painting, the first one in night atmosphere is more accurate but nt the artificial lights color, it is too green , try making them more orange - yellow
you wont need that strong glow in the far windows,
also be careful with the left foreground building perspective it is off
if you add a night moon you will obtain strong highlights that will discover nice shapes in the architecture elements as well in trees,
the second one has a very strong illumination in the roadwayI'd go for the first one
keep pu the good work
