A Spaceman Dude direction :hmm:

The first thing that i noticed is that his face features are a bit too high on the head. The eyes should be in the middle of the head.

I think you should also add differant hues to the face and maybe also a rim light?
Also, give the lips a differant colour and make the ear a tad smaller.

I made a very quick paintover to show you better what I mean and I hope you wohnŽt be offended by this. If you you want me to, iŽll remove the image.

Hope this helps!

I work now on the composition of the compleat thing.
Pleas excuse my crapy english :hmm:

More Dudes and a Helmet.

Heheh funny! Looks like good anatomy, are you going this sketchy on the final? The roughness of it confuses a bit at times, hard to read some creases as creases. Keep going  .

Thank`s JmBoekestein. Yep, the Foo Fighters are playing in the Background and iŽm painting thist Thing to the final :D
I start allways very rough and fight forward to the details.
Here are somme happy clouds of smoke.

im really diggin it! sorry, just comments from me

04-19-2006, 08:17 AM
Nothing to sorry JCha, Thank`s :)
I have now my Pic composition and i can start with the "fine tuning" :bounce:

04-19-2006, 08:45 PM
You obviously have yet to sharpen everything up so i won't comment on that! the thing that is grabbing me the most is that his face is very orange, which isn't really natural, and if thats how he's being lit then hit helmet etc should also be catching an orange glow. right now the face just doesnt fit. i like the composition although there is no real focal point, so your eye is led right off the page especially with the flames near the top right corner. it seems to be going really well however, the colours in the rest of the image are working. keep up the good work, i'm looking forward to the finished product!

Have you seen Roy Schieder lately? He's THAT orange and i'm sure he's all natural, baby! :o)

Like the ideas, dude, will be cool once there's some detailing going on.

That`s right Escapizm, to much orange in the face. I turn it down. Thank`s.

perhaps I'm the only one who wonders this, but is that a cig in his mouth? It needs some sort of shading if it is. Also, are you going to put glass on the helmet-type-thing he's wearing and add a reflection? I think it might add to it, because personally I was liking the ones when he didn't have that on his head, it just looks like something is missing from it as it is now. If that is a cig, he has his lips pursed so tightly around it, it would be squished, and he might as well spit it out because there's no way he's going to be able to inhale it now.

Anyhow, fun stuff. I always wished I could draw guns, though I would prefer chicks with guns, this sort of thing is fun as well.

04-20-2006, 06:04 PM
Yep, it`s a Cig :)

04-20-2006, 11:54 PM
Yep, it`s a Cig :)

Looks like a joint.... (badly rolled one)

04-21-2006, 11:31 PM
To roll with big glowes is a bit difficult :hmm:

04-22-2006, 12:21 AM
strikes me now that it seems there's some cartillage missing from his nose. There's a little cartillage at the tip of our noses that looks like a cats nose if it were in the open (I think). This dude's nostrils start without flowing in the way, rounding it off more could help.

You can feel it if you wiggle the tip of your nose a lil with your finger. Heheh.

Oh yeah, PS, I think there should be a cast shadow at about the same place as Cypherx's avatar has a cast shadow. :p...
