Every light glow has an add sphereShape node added in (you can see it in the outliner if you right click "Show shapes" and then go into the light hierarchy and open it up to reveal the sphereShape node. Open up the attribute editor while the sphereShape node is selected. You should see a Render Sphere Attributes box with a radius setting inside. set the radius to a smaller size to get the render you want.

Note: For an easier solution- you might notice a sphere surrounding your light- this is the same shape node mentioned before. Simply scaling the light should scale this sphere down as well. THe image of the sphere isn't a perfect representation of the glow effect- don't expect that if the sphere is behind an object that it will not make a glow in front- just scale it down until the glow goes behind the object.... it will not effect the intensity of your glow.

You can find out more about glows in the Maya help section. Just go to help and type "Light Glow"- it can be pretty helpful for these kinds of annoying problems.
