View Full Version : Character:"Preety" girl ;)

04 April 2006, 04:19 PM
Well not so preety I think;) this my third charcter. this time it`ll be a girl face.

04 April 2006, 04:33 PM
just a little palyin with the sss shader. no maps applied

04 April 2006, 04:34 PM
Mh not bad, really not bad, but something is odd. I don't know why but your girl has a masculine feel to it. I looks way to male to be a woman, especially a little girl. I think it has to do with the neck, it's bit too strong and plus the brows add alot to the masculine features. The nose might be a tad to wide and to sharp too.
Just a few thoughts, Keep on going.

Hey Matti3D, your model looks good, but what ref. did you use to create this model?

DR99, New Character (

04 April 2006, 04:43 PM
Texlon- yeah in fact i think that too, she is a bit to musculine. i`ll tweak it later
xmaster55- well i havent used refernce for her, maybe that where the issues come from ;)

04 April 2006, 06:40 PM
Hey nice work so far. I'm really liking that nose. May I suggest that you may want to raise the mouth and chin a little and either make the eye's bigger or bring them forward. Right now the eyes look too deeply set to be feminine, and a bit small for a younger girl.
But the mouth right now is what I think is giving her that almost masculine look.

Looking pretty good so, cann't wait to see an update.

04 April 2006, 10:44 PM
i made some "improves". do you think it`s better now

04 April 2006, 06:42 AM
I find it still look too much like a male. Maybe you can try making the eyebrows thinner and the nose bridge smoother & more gentle. The mouth also appear abit broad and straight. Generally the face should be made softer.

I did a paintover (hope you don't mind) to illustrate my view.

04 April 2006, 10:04 AM
hey PKD :)- thx for the paintover.she looks really good:) I find it very useful. I`ll post the changes tomorrow cause I`m not at home right now.

give me some more crits:)
happy easter :P

04 April 2006, 08:22 PM
Nice ! the new lips make it more feminine....:)

04 April 2006, 08:40 PM
heh:) Pete_exxtreme you`re talking about my model or the paintover;)??

04 April 2006, 09:52 PM
Some update, I think it looks better now.
give some C&C

04 April 2006, 02:35 AM
I've been watching this thread. The overall shape of the head is quite good.
I don't know if you have actually modeled the eyebrows and lashes or if you've just drawn them over, but right now they are letting the whole picture down. In my opinion to get a more pretty look the eye brows need to arch more, right now they are too straight. They can start off thick but as they end they get very thin. i can also see the bottom eyelashes are far too long and go too far down. look at the drawing PKD did and compare with yours and you'll see what i mean.
Like i said this is my opinion, you don't have to go with it. The final choice is yours.
Keep up the good work man .

04 April 2006, 05:31 PM
hey pap87, yes good point I`ll do this later when I`ll like the model;) Well the eyebrow and eyelashes are jus splines so they`re just to see how te model will look. I want to make te hair, eyebrows etc. with palnes and opacity maps but right now I don`t know how to do it so if you know any good tuts i`d apreciate it:)
so more tweaks (I think I`ll never finish it:/)

04 April 2006, 05:40 PM
You are really in the good way in my opinion.
you can really improve the shape of the eyes to make her more female (actualy there are also a bit too close). You can use shave and haircut for the eyelash, its not very difficult to use..
keep it up

04 April 2006, 02:42 AM
Hey, it's looking a lot better man. it needs a little tweaking here and there, however, it's looking good so far.

keep it up

thx for the comments, unfortunately my previous model broke down and I was forced to do it from all over.

05 May 2006, 08:59 PM
I`ve made some imrpoves on it. I haven`t spend oo much time on it so the update is rather small :)

05 May 2006, 09:51 PM
It looks really nice man. I think after a few tweaks here and there you will be ready to start texturing. Great JOb

05 May 2006, 09:57 PM
i think that before that paintover your face had a more original look, the paintover is a generic female, nothing new to her, yours seemed better in my opinion.

05 May 2006, 05:52 PM
thx guys.
another update:

05 May 2006, 06:23 PM
Getting there dude. But a tip from me would be to skip the background at all, and use some neutral one when you shows of the WIP's :) especially on the last one.

05 May 2006, 10:31 PM
ok, so in other view

05 May 2006, 01:43 AM
Hi buddy,

Cool work.. keep it up!!

D shapes r improving... Now it's looking more feminine

05 May 2006, 05:59 AM
i think that before that paintover your face had a more original look, the paintover is a generic female, nothing new to her, yours seemed better in my opinion.

I couldn't agree with this more. I think the original look was fantastic. Yeah, it was a bit masculine, but not all women are supermodels.

05 May 2006, 09:57 AM
It's good!
You should just watch where the neck joins the body, it's doesn't look right.
Keep it up.

05 May 2006, 05:30 PM
I think I`m getting her to look just as I want. Just a little tweaks here and there (neck-pap87) And i`m starting the worst part. Lightning, texturing, hair and rendering ;)

05 May 2006, 05:46 PM
It's getting there, mate, but here is some things i noticed could be fast fixed.
1. the neckmuscleflow, seems to be abit off in the last pics, they start from tha back of the head and goes under her face.
2. The bones at the top of the brestcage, need to be more blocked out.
3. the muscle that flows from the back head and down towards her backmuscle need better definition (i think it comes when nr 1 issue is fixed.
4. Eventually make some small tweak on the shoulder, it's no biggie, just more defined.
5. More wing to the mouth = more sensual.

Looking forward for the textured one! :)

05 May 2006, 09:43 PM
thx warbird i`ll do exactly as you said, but later. I`m not planning to do the whole body.
heres antoher render.

05 May 2006, 09:45 PM
You're welcome - Well I'd suggest if you want it nicely rendered, keep the upper torso, you only need some shoulders and upper chest, thats not much. A floating head in nowere wont make a good composition. But it all depends on what your goals are. I'll follow your work here, feel free to ask for feedback, I'd happily help you. :)

05 May 2006, 08:34 PM
Hi, another updates that i made. I`ve changed the shape of the mouth. And Iquite happy it right now. I`ve been making this head for definitely too long. I think I`ll star doing the hair. I did an overpainting to show what i`m aiming for.

The head:

And the overpainting:

05 May 2006, 09:16 PM
i'm not sure, but maybe because of the skin tone you could give her a mix between light brown and dark brown hair... black kinda makes her skin so white.. not sure why... looking much better then in the beginning by the way ;)

05 May 2006, 10:17 PM
hm...the hair is too much generic, she screams short spikey red hair and a earring!

06 June 2006, 03:15 PM
I havent posted anything for a long time. The cause was lack of time. I changed the head shape a bit.(when i look at those i have already posted I think they`re ugly:))) I think this one`s better

06 June 2006, 04:10 PM
finaly... she now looks like a female ;) the others where fine, but they kind of had a lot of masculinity in them.. but this is so much better.... waiting for more updates ;)

06 June 2006, 04:13 PM
yep, the last image shows that she is a female. Great look!

keep it up!

06 June 2006, 04:57 PM
Getting better with every update. Good work!

06 June 2006, 10:48 AM
thx guys I really appreciate it. I think she looks more feminine now(in fact I don`t know how colud i thought that she does look feminine before;))
I add few improves and new eye shader. Rigth now I`m working on the skin texture.
best regards,

06 June 2006, 02:17 PM
Very nice :) Getting better and better...

I know it's WIP, but I think there should be no eyelashes on lower eyelids (or very tiny ones) check this pic

Also eyebrows are placed in a strange way too...

Take care and keep up the good work

06 June 2006, 06:27 PM
Balr0g- yes very good point, I`ll definitely change that.

06 June 2006, 07:38 AM
hey its me again,
I think this is the last upadate. I won`t finish this model. I just can`t get it looks right:/ When I spend few hours on it I thik it looks good, but when I go sleep and on the other day I look on it I think it looks bad:/ And this annoys me so much:/ I dont even have strenghts to start another one:(
best regards
here`s the (last) upadate

06 June 2006, 04:30 PM
no even last words of crticism??:(

06 June 2006, 06:35 PM
I really like this last render, I don't think your far off a little more tweaking and studying the eye, eyebrow area and u might be pretty happy with it. Can u post a 3 quarter it's hard to tell just by a straight on shot. I really like the mouth/nose area.

06 June 2006, 06:37 PM
i would Reshape teh eyebrows

and the neck shape not finished and this interrupiting in overall look

but the basic shape is good, i like it!
i am modeling a cute face of a woman too, isnot easy i have to say.
face is easy, but the not the cute ones;)

good work, keep it up

06 June 2006, 12:58 AM
