What is the software GIMP? and were can i find info about it?

yes. and powerful. if you don't do print work (no real cmyk color space......) it's great. a bit strange but once you got used to it you can do everything with it. and if you need new features you can simply write them -> the source code is free

Yep, thats one definition. I also thought a Gimp was that guy in black leather in the movie Pulp Fiction :p

Pretty much hit the nail on the head... The GIMP is good as long as you're not doing anything huge... and the ScriptFu stuff makes it easy to add on plugins. However, I couldn't match the speed I was able to get in Photoshop, and (by default) the hotkeys weren's the same...

its pretty cool tho, all things considered !
