View Full Version : bent and painted

So here's a sketch I was forced to paint because people at work wanted me to do up a blog... So I made a blog and I'm gonna put this up there. I don't usually apint my sketches... I pretty much just leave them there when they're done.

I'm having really mixed thoughts about the bg in this.. I have no idea what I should do.. I'm thinking mare abstract.. but I'm not sure.

If there's stuff that really stands out, please fire away!!

Thanks! (

Hey, that looks really great! I love the distortion and contortion of the anatomy. I think if you are contemplating a background maybe you can take some ideas from Egon Scheile. Your image reminds me a lot of his work and the way he distorted and contorted his figures in a very disturbing way, and with a figure like this you want to keep the background as simple as you can to emphasise the disturbing quality of the position.
Hope this helps you out a little!

Hey Dave,

Thanks! I checked out that guy's stuff... pretty crazy:D

I still don't know what I'm gonna o about the bg.. .I'm leaning more towards that... a messy color or something...

Here's an update:

I've just been throwing down colors on him... I really have to get over the fear of colors!
