View Full Version : Height Maps in Max?

I need a good way to generate a height map based on the geo in my scene using Max. What is the best way to do that?

Use a gradient ramp map to your geo and rotate either the gizmo of the UVW-Mapping or in the texture coordinates. Instance this map into the selfillumination, turn of the shadow receiving in the object properties.
