Latest Update: Final Image: Petroleum
04 April 2006, 10:14 AM
My picture shows the problems met during the journey. That was my first concept sketch, but after looking the Chris Moss's entry ( http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=322619), I needed to find an other idea.
04 April 2006, 05:47 PM
This (ugly...!) new sketch is enougth different.
04 April 2006, 08:27 AM
Modeling with 3ds Max 8 before zbrush.
04 April 2006, 01:24 PM
First texture with Zbrush. It's very easy to work with this software!
04 April 2006, 02:06 PM
Nice model! Is a shame you had the same idea, but the new one is nice too..don't worry!!
04 April 2006, 03:37 PM
Thanks Centurionit! Have fun and Good luck with your beautiful fairies!
04 April 2006, 03:46 PM
The texturing really rocks, loving the swirly bits on the neck :)
Cant wait to see the whole thing textured!
04 April 2006, 03:52 PM
Cool, the new concept looks really nice!
Good luck with the rest of the journey, sorry to hear you had to swap concepts so late.
04 April 2006, 09:18 PM
Thanks all, I have big work with the ground of my picture...I hate that!!
04 April 2006, 02:23 PM
The model is just textured, I need to place dicplacement map with Mental Ray.
Your ideas are welcome!
04 April 2006, 08:34 AM
WIP, displacement with Mental ray.
04 April 2006, 03:44 PM
There are some problems with texture borders and displacement details...
04 April 2006, 03:01 PM
I'm trying to place objets in scene.
04 April 2006, 02:47 PM
turtle's skin on skeleton.
04 April 2006, 11:25 AM
04 April 2006, 03:05 PM
To have a more original theme, I will change a little my concept sketch. After the nauffrage of a tanker, babies tortoises find themselves on an emergency raft.
04 April 2006, 09:16 AM
The tortoises are placed one by one in their final position.
04 April 2006, 01:27 PM
I don't pass by a skeleton to give their position to each one of my tortoies.
It is not easy to give an expression to their body, the carapace is a big handicap!
04 April 2006, 07:55 PM
I answered you in mine Thread
04 April 2006, 08:37 AM
Without passing by a skeleton, I set up the torues in my scene.
04 April 2006, 08:22 AM
I position the tortoises according to the "Raft Of Meduse".
04 April 2006, 11:53 AM
hahaha.. funny motion! nice turttles too :D
04 April 2006, 06:47 PM
Thank you Ziriguidum, it's work you know these stupid positions!!!
04 April 2006, 06:04 PM
I almost finished some with the placement of my small monsters.
04 April 2006, 12:34 PM
I have only some modifications to be made to the tortoises. Then I will begin the design of the boat and to finish, that of the ocean. Then a work will come on textures and the lights.
The translator that I use is really rotted!!!
04 April 2006, 04:15 PM
Here my first tests of realization of an ocean. There must be scum and gasoline...
04 April 2006, 06:57 PM
Really like your latest raft concept! Very cool, different -- love the turtle models too, extremely well done. Looking forward to seeing more, good luck!
04 April 2006, 10:11 PM
Hi bellonte I Prefer much more your last concept..very nice, hope to see more early...Good luck..
04 April 2006, 10:24 AM
Thank you for your encouragements, I have difficulties to make a correct scum much there on the surface of water.
04 April 2006, 10:38 AM
The result of my work on scum is sufficient for the moment.
05 May 2006, 02:10 PM
My ocean and its scum with a layer of oil.
05 May 2006, 05:25 AM
Hey! Really like how this is progressing...hope you have time to finish the challenge, and, if not, at least finish the entry...it is very interesting. Very cerebral, important.
05 May 2006, 01:34 PM
Thank you for your encouragements oceanbluesky! I will finish my work time if I manage to make a realistic fabric!
05 May 2006, 04:11 PM
On this image, I build the raft according to the placement of my tortoises. it remains me to insert ropes and fabrics. Then I will have to work textures.
05 May 2006, 09:48 AM
The last image that I sent is fuzzy but it is not a desired effect... sorry!
05 May 2006, 03:16 PM
installation of elements of the decorations.
05 May 2006, 08:54 AM
I try to put dirtinesses on textures of the boards of my raft.
05 May 2006, 10:34 AM
First test of sky with a mixture of noises in 3dsmax.
05 May 2006, 06:45 PM
Me, I don't like the oil companies!
05 May 2006, 07:10 AM
Limed in oil, it ended up succumbing.
05 May 2006, 02:20 PM
It is a test of light for my tortoises.
05 May 2006, 06:57 PM
My image is almost completed. Now, criticisms will be the good come to finalize my work. Thank you in advance.
05 May 2006, 06:21 PM
Hello. I don't know if I sent the good pictures of my model... we have just to turn around and that this last does not have texture?
05 May 2006, 03:59 PM
My picture is made up of four layers.
05 May 2006, 04:07 PM
It is an image which shows the details of the modeling of my babies tortoises.
05 May 2006, 06:04 PM
After the shipwreck of a tanker, babies tortoises begin their journey towards...cleaner water. Far away, they see the chimney of a nuclear thermal power station which, it, does not pollute the oceans!
05 May 2006, 12:15 PM
At you the interesting and well made work.
Ideas of ecological accidents presently are especially actual.
06 June 2006, 03:08 PM
It is true, for ecology, I am always revolted by the oil companies which earn money without respecting the environment.
07 July 2006, 10:21 AM
Thanks to all have followed my project and thanks to CGsociety for this very interesting contest.
