My sketch from yesterday seems pretty futuristic- am I allowed to submit it for TWO DSGs?

EDIT: Race TRACK- whoops, thought it was just race car 2050...this will be a placeholder for a racetrack design...

Hi Guys.I imagine a track that is like a bobsled track, with turns very closed and "WallRide Turns".The place is a Arena, with people in every imaginable place around the Track.Something Crazy, confuse and Dangerous!!!Thanks.Photoshop, 50 minutes

alemaopedro - so cool - had something similar in mind... very good..

04 April 2006, 05:46 PM
Here we go again, i had the idea that racetracks will be built through the centre of cities and feature strange faces which have racetracks built in them!
It took me all 50 minutes and i used photoshop.

-> Photoshop 45 min - The first I posted but out of theme. I will post it too in the " Yesterday Car " Thread.
Photoshop 45 min - The second one, more about "track".

Vitreous->Good ambiant and imagination
paperclip->Good rendering
alemaopedro->Great composition

Vitreous- cool idea, sort of like crazy golf, isn't it?
DeeVad: Very expressionistic!

'In the year 2050, on account of the extreme speed of the cars by then, races are held over water. This is the Lake Maragudra, near Chile, where the great Maragudra race is held every 8 years. This section of the track is the smallest twist. Scattered around the mountains are small watching stations, suspended from the rocks....'
30 mins- not much time today.

Nice sketches everyone :buttrock:
I imagined 2050 where reality is mostly mental. So the tracks are connected and become what they make them, as computer games. Just plug and go.
50 min ps

I get the feeling that in 2050 people will race on the same tracks as they do now in very similar cars... but crazy sci-fi racing is cooler to paint! Anyways, i really dislike mine, but I figure I'll post it nevertheless. 50mins, PSCS2.

I thought the track of the future would evolve into a series of hovering stations that must be past though to complete the course. - The courses are always changing - through low elevation canyon passes to climbs high into the atmosphere. Raced by a new form of one man hover Jets.

Okay so this is really cheezy and simple, but it's more for the concept than the pretty-ness. So the idea is that in 2050 or whenever, it is acknowledged that people watch races in order to see explosions, crashes, and destruction. So here we've taken the race to space for a super-amplified version of Junkyard wars (Junk Wars!). So since it's space only mass and power matter and speed - well as long as you can control it is practically unlimited. There are obstacles though - mines, filled with explosives and the oxygen for them to burn. You have to dodge these (which are black in color to match the blackness of space) and also your opponents who are allowed weapons (within certain specifics). Basically most of these race "cars" are built by enthusiasts to be as fast as possible heedless of design, so you get all kinds of wacky shapes and variations and power methods. Whatever works. As they usually end up being destroyed, they are largely made out of recycled parts (like a demolition derby uses old cars) and they are driven by remote control or robots. Here you see two people at an observation deck with specialized super-zoom binoculars that allow them to see the action with in-your-face detail and clarity. Gray hair is in fashion with the youth, because no old people let their hair stay gray. Also the ninety's are coming back into style soon, as humans are great at recycling old ideas over and over again.

Oh yes - and I did this over about 55 minutes, but was talking to a friend over IM through out it so I figure that shaves off at least five minutes. If not, subtract the earth-like planet and the crooked red stripe in the middle of the track.

:D Thanks, Gord! I think it's all the practice in the CGChallenge- after two weeks of working on composition alone, I guess I HAD to learn something about composition! (I'm at the rendering stage now, argh!)
