View Full Version : how to bevel plus in multiple curves

04 April 2006, 09:58 AM

first i must say that i dont know to write mel script,
but i think this could be a very simple thing to do.

i have a lot of circles

(something like that)

0000 00 00
000 000 000

making a kind of patern and
all i want to do is a bevel plus to each single circle

i can do 1 at the time, but i have some hundreds of them.

Does any one have any suggestion how can i do this?

thanks for any help:thumbsup:

string $selToBevel[] = `ls -sl`;
for ($circles in $selToBevel)
bevelPlus -constructionHistory true -normalsOutwards true -range false
-polygon 1 -tolerance 0.01 -numberOfSides 4 -js true -width 0.1
-depth 0.1 -extrudeDepth 0.25 -capSides 4 -outerStyle 0 -innerStyle 0
-polyOutMethod 2 -polyOutCount 200 -polyOutExtrusionType 3 -polyOutExtrusionSamples 2
-polyOutCurveType 3 -polyOutCurveSamples 6 -polyOutUseChordHeightRatio 0 $circles;

Note that this includes all the settings for the bevel. What you can do is delete the ones you want at default and then you can edit the ones you want to edit. Select all the circles and run the script

I'm writing a tutorial on MEL now that deals with several MEL challenges. I'll let you know when I complete it. You could also check gnomon, they have several DVD's, etc. google MEL + tutorial too. There are many of them out there :bounce:
