View Full Version : Specular Effect on Mental Ray Glass

Hi guys, I really need help with mental ray shader, I'm using max, and I've created glass shader using mental ray material, and under surface I've used glass(lume), but there is no specular settings, and also no specular on render. I've tried mixing glass with DGS electric, but no to avail...maybe I skipped something, can anyone help? thanks!

Use the dielectric shader (it has a phong setting), or a raytrace material if you want to add a fake specular.

Thanks a lot Jeff for pointing me out with dielectric base, I've tried it with raytrace material, but the problem is, using raytrace will give opaque alpha, and I need the alpha information, that mental ray material offer...I guess my option are only left to dielectric base..
