could someone tell me how to set random material IDs for particles?

Yeah lets get this going,..

In Material Dynamic there is Sub-Material Rotoscoping with a Random option, that may help. As far as getting the ID's comming off the emmiter to jumble, well I dunno.

Here ( is a shape marker I created while looking into your question.

I ended up using a material frequency operator (exactly what I needed). It assigns material IDs in the percentages you dictate. Very nice and flexible.
