a little late, but here's a happy new year sequence

1.2 MB divx

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas!

Finally I finished my Dog animation..
just a pile of keyframes glued together, not much of a story..
I did that to test some quadruped animation..

it's a tribute to my dog, who was put to sleep recently :hmm:

you can download it from here:
(click on the dog icon, and it will ask you to save the file
' Lycos bans direct links, Sorry )

it's 6MB zipped Divx

any C & CC are most welcomed

doh the file played but only like 5 frames for the whole thing.
NM I tried windows media. That worked better. Hrrm first time Ifranview wigged out on me........ back on topic.

Thats pretty cool.
I remember you posting the cycle and the bit of animation of nutsz getting up in the morning many whiles back..
It looks pretty cool when its all together like that.

I remember you were waiting for the XSI quad rig before you started animating him again?
Did you use it? How was it.?
As for crits.... the growel looked off to me. Whem my dog growels she has her mouth closed and teeth showing.
Your dog opens his mouth to growel.. Looks weird to me.

I like your dog. Its a cool character.
Well im outa here.
see yeah around

really really nice...

12 December 2002, 05:43 AM
hey Oz.. nice to see you are still kicking.
one the few 3d ppl in il that i think actually were born with something.

i like the anim, ya the mouth looks abit off i agree about that, instead it would shut the teeth together and pull back the with the eye sacks and everything.
but i guess you didnt feel like going that deep, either way i like it.

by the way, i'm in florida now.. starting school in scad in a few days, hope to get back to il in 4-6 years.
maybe by then a spot will open? :P

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Rudity: Eventually I didnt use the new Quad set-up
I stayed with the old one. I tried switching set ups
but it got too complicated, because I needed to add
another bone to each leg, cause my dog is cartoony,
and got big feet (hint?!) so the Anatomical three jointed
leg, is not suitable for him.. when I added bones, the
whole rig got messed up.. so I gave up on that.
Regarding his growl, basically you are right, but
I didnt feel it has to be like in real life.. I thought
I looks good like that.. maybe I am wrong :)

Gal: Thanks for your compliments man! and good luck in
Florida!!!.. about 6 years ago I went to Florida too
to study visual art (in Miami) but things got complicated
at the college, and I left after a week and a half..
it's a long sad story, who left me missing 7000$
after 10 days :)
I sure hope you'll have way better time there!
I hope to be in L.A in around 4-6 years.. so if we'll
be coordinated, you can take my place , hehe :)

LOL that'd be great.

When I animated my kitty I made him hump a camera.. Heheheh.
I do the same, first script for an animal character, what is he gonna hump?? LOL

I think you should do it. yeah yeah yeah!! Its funny. Or imply it with sound and the shaking dog house like you have done already.
Have him step outa the dog house with a conquering face and a feminine dog collar in his mouth.. LOL I like my idea!!
Use it if you like.

good work man!

I truely believe in healing your sole through animation tribute - or to be precise, getting over your beloved dogs death , Which, as u know I experienced, shortly b4 u had.

let it all out man! (sob)

as for the animation: excellent ,even though I sometimes think that the sound track reduces the impact in several spots along the way. and I am still waiting for episode 2 : Nutz in the city.

why am I writing all this , when I could in fact, lean over, say it to you in your face, and slap you one?

Really Fantastic job with the Animation.
Some of the best cartoony work I've seen in a while.

Really looking forward to some more of this series.
(If you ever get around to it! :D)
