Anyone know if it's possible to use C# to write plugins for maya (through the api)?

As far as i know I need some kind of wrapper? or is there a better solution for this?

No the API requires C++.

At this years Maya API Developers Conference, Jeremy Gordon will be demonstrating a C# integration he developed.

I've written a Python integration into Maya (that I presented at the conference last year) that allows you to develop plug-ins in Python. But, unfortunately, there's currently no simple out of the box solution for doing this.
