hi.

is there a way to create specular maps inside of zbrush without having to create several different materials with different specular settings and then switch between materials to paint the specular intensity?
and if not, is there anything planned for 2.5?

regards chris

Hey Chris-
Currently, you can not use a specular map as you can in, say, Mental Ray.

Best,

Ryan

hi ryan.

i was talking of the creation of specular maps, not the rendering.

Sure you can create a (traditional) specular map in ZBrush, just make a new texture and paint your specular map on the model. Problem is that you'd have to paint flat color and export it to another 3d modelling package to see the final result.

well its allot better than doing it in a 2d program.

hey tobias.

i was hoping there is a way to paint and actually see the specular while painting (like in bodypaint for example) but i will do it this way then.

thanks :)
