Well it's not a so long time i'm using Lightwave7, and i just try to use sasquatch for the fur. So here is a big inspiration of the great monster & cie, i've done but please look this as it's a beginner work... :) I need some critics about the fur coz now i'm not able to judge it myself. here it is :

I think you should apply the sasquatch shader on the head surface so that it would get shadows and look better.

your model is nice, the fur could use some work though

I worked again on the fur and i just added shadows, here's the result :

I usually compress my files to the maximum for the web (my job quote : compress !!!! ) , you'll see that in my site, but in this case to not loose quality due to the fur, i didn't exceptionnally... Anyway, on the last one, i reduced a little bit the quality...

it looks good, but maybe you should make the fur a little bit thicker.
I think it's a little thin at some areas.

I think the fur around his mouth should be some shorter. Cool render anyways! Go on!

Hum, Monsters Inc fan?
I would suggest to build more master splines...some shorter.
You need some shorter at some places and some thicker.
It really looks like 3D right now so try to create some irregularity
