View Full Version : CgTalk Daily Sketch 659 THE 25 MINUTE SKETCH: 'man'
03-26-2006, 02:17 PM
* You have 25 , (count them 25 !) minutes to do your sketch.
IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing
Also, I will add a new voting category, called THE FASTEST DRAW
We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.
These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.
PS To submit your topic ideas and suggestions go to this thread:

Heh, it's a less-than-spectacular attempt but the cliché is that he is a devil manufactured by mankind which mankind cannot control—other than that I think it's a hilarious pose, punching helicopters.. :D First DSG ever!
Cool drawings, people. For your first in Photoshop, Ben Johnson, I have to say that you are definitely working in the right direction! (In my opinion.) And Kalorlo: interesting depiction—I cannot decide in my mind if they are in combat, or if the red is trying to comfort and support the other, who is falling; my first thought was that the rear figure is female, and it is into her arms that he submits himself, professing exhaustion..

Here's mine, 25 min! Yay! Trying to loosen up a bit, with questionable results..but I'm having fun. (Photoshop & Wacom)
Danielh68 - when I first saw this sketch I though it was super-abstract, but it seems to come into focus more each tme I look at it. Damn impressive.
Fultron - great idea, love the color. The Ton - beautiful lighting! Love it. DJtrousdale - hilarious idea. Lots of great (and a few disturbing :) ) sketches.

Lovati: Comfort and support were definitely what I was going for. They're both supposed to be male, though :)
I thought afterwards that there could be something about youth and age in there too, but it wasn't intended!

Jings! Thanks a lot guys! Your comments are really appreciated...
What I wanted to show here was the esoteric existence of individuality by confronting mortality...er, wait, no that's not it. I just drew the shadowy bits and put a gradient over it. Would you believe it took me 25 minutes?
PS7/ Intuous3/ 25 minutes
