View Full Version : Antelope Centaur - c&c appreciated

Well, I've never been particularly good with illustrations, so I thought I'd try a standard fantasy image for practice-- an extremely fast variant of the centaur stretching and holding a javelin.
I'm having trouble with the left hand- any help with that or advice in general would be very welcome.

Interesting idea :)

Not sure about the hand. Like, his left or my left?

Thanks- the one holding the javelin- it looks completely wrong, but I can't quite place how.

looking good so far, about the hand. i think the problem is that you drew the fingers like he is making a fist. in that case, the tips of his fingers would go all the way into the palm of his hand. but since it is wrapping around a javelin, they shouldnt go all the way into his palm. also, the thumb looks like it is being pressed down, rather than extended in a more relaxed position. but its late and im really tired, i hope im seeing straight. good luck!

A minor update-

The quality of the cloth stood out to me. The shadows and highlights are really nice in the bottom sash, but the top could use more more shadow. Adding some to the right arm would help nock it back in space a bit and give more depth to the character.
