Hey guys. Has anyone ever modelled a piece of rope. I would like to model a piece for rope for a project but don't know where to start.

Does anyone know of a decent Lightwave tutorial?

You could use two discs and twist em and bend to your liking, or you could use Rope Editor plus:

make a long cilinder 6 segments and depending on lenght set segments to at least 50 or much more.

Copy/paste 4/5 times so you can place them in a circle from the topview.
Then just use twist in center along Y and you have a rope.

If you are not on a mac you can use the hairblade plugin.

Thanks for the advice. I found that plugin was perfect and easy to use. Was only a demo version, would maybe be interested in getting the license for the full program.

Has anyone got the license and what do they think of the licensed version?

Any comments would be useful to me.

Has anyone got the license and what do they think of the licensed version?

Very useful, the one thing it lacks for me is the ability to use a chosen template for the 'rope' shape. Pictrix C_Worm may be an alternative.
That said, very hadny and makes putting pipes etc. onto sets a breeze.
