i did a simple test with a fully reflective black phong (chrome) maya shader and a mib_reflect on the other hand. I rendered both version in mental ray. The Maya Shader Rendering took 45 seconds, the mib_reflect took 6 seconds.
So does each rendering generally benefit of using mental ray shaders instead of the maya shaders ? Even if it is a simple lambert ?
Any experiences ?
And how would i combine mib_reflect and mib_refract ? where should i stick in the outputs of both nodes ?
