12 December 2002, 07:31 PM

12 December 2002, 07:35 PM

12 December 2002, 07:42 PM

Cool modeling and the materials rock! (But maybe the tyres are a bit too shiny?)
This is a really good car model! Respect! :applause:
I'd like some more information on this model.
What technique did you use? A wireframe would be cool!
12 December 2002, 01:16 PM
already been said b4 up above... rox...
u're image on the renderosity site is about 130k and u can only attach 50k images on this site...
did u use GI with HDRI 2 do this shot ???
12 December 2002, 04:09 PM
thanks for the kind words guys :)
XerC - I used subpatches in modelling the car from blueprints :p
samartin - actually, I used fake GI, made by 5 area lights arranged in a cubic manner ;)
I guess I'm not patient enough to wait looooooong render times made by radiosity
about the image, I actually resized it to 37 kb in photoshop and attached it...I clicked "preview post" but it seems the image doesn't want to attach...
weird...could it be my system screwing it up?
XerC - I'll attach wireframes as soon as I can attach images :)

I've had the same problem with preview reply, basically it loses the attachement when u go back 2 edit mode, so attach after u done a preview reply and u'll b sorted...
may try this 5 area ligths myself sometime, thanx 4 the tip...

its the old style GTR right??? looks good, what techniques did you use/.?
12 December 2002, 05:18 PM
I've always like that car :bounce: awesome work! :applause:

Very nice work. The modelling is superb, and the render is excellent. I love the subtle reflections on the car.
Good subject too, I think the Skyline is one of the sexiest cars around. Too bad the new concept sketches for the new Skyline (that may make it to the US through Nissan, instead of Motorex) look ugly. They dropped the ball on the 350z's styling too if you ask me.
Okay, now that my rant on car-styling is over, can we see some larger pics of the other renders?
12 December 2002, 09:10 AM
i think the new ones suck as well :)
maybe an animation of the car???stick in the nitrous as well?
12 December 2002, 10:56 AM
these are the large version of the renders...
i hope it attaches :p
12 December 2002, 10:58 AM

this is a render with an environment :p
i'm not yet satisfied with it, so it's in the tweaking process right now :)

12 December 2002, 12:28 PM
Cooooooooooooool works.... I love these cars. :D
12 December 2002, 12:22 AM
actually, i planned todo the R35, but problem is, i don't find the blueprints of the car antwhere in the net
12 December 2002, 12:38 AM
are there any good tutorials online for modelling such a good car with excellent textures and lightning in lightwave?
12 December 2002, 04:38 AM
Nice GTR you should try driving one :p
A few little things the wheels are the wrong colour the are more golden/brown in real life.
The brake disc's are also a golden colour.
The boot lid is also abit different but most people won't know the difference :D
The rear guards are also as pumped if not more pumped then front guards.
Anyway very very nice model

Killer397 - there is an excellent car modelling tutorial on the net
Kabab - thanks for the tips, never seen a real skyline in close up :)
12 December 2002, 08:55 PM
damn that is a realy nice model of a godzilla man!!!
That one looks just like jonah lomu's godzilla.
And i dont think it realy matters what color the disk brakes are coz if you are realy serious about cars you would make them the color that you like, and wheels come in all shapes and sizes, but i think he ment the mags?
A good car to be modeled would be the maclarin F1,
These are extremely nice cars.
What did you make the model in?
12 December 2002, 02:27 AM
I was just being really picky bastard :D but if he is going for realism its the detail that counts..
He is 99% of the way there just a few small changes and you could win over every gtr fanatic
Oh yeah while we are at it :) the black bottom lip is not glossy its a matt paint :)
12 December 2002, 07:16 PM
tamate - I used Lightwave 7.5 in modelling this baby :D
Kabab - thanks for the tips, I'll be re-rendering some shots then I'll be posting it :D

multiple attachments are not allowed in the gallery. Please refrain from attaching more than two files(generally a render and a wireframe). If you need to show more than two images please host them somewhere else and link to them.
Thanks in advance.
