View Full Version : making an autorun cd

How would you make a cd with flash content on it autorun? I have a portfolio cd with my work on it and I have to send this out to a prospective employer...I want it to load as soon as the cd is inserted, so he doesn't have to double click anything.
Is this possible with Flash 4? (that is the version I am using.)
Any help would be appreciated.

convert the flash to a .exe file.
then create a text file (in notepad) with the following text):
then save it as autorun.inf
<file> is the name of your file :)

I very much appreciate the help....but....I did that, exactly what you suggested, but when I put the cd into the drive, it just sits there, won't open until I click on the .exe file myself.
Any thoughts on why this isn't working?
the autorun.inf file needs to be in the root directory on the cd. other than that it should work perfectly...
Give this a try, it works perfectly for me.

oh yeh forgot to tell u that it needs to be in the root directory of the cd.
also don't put the < > symbols around the filename if that's what u were doing :)

I downloaded the autorun program from ZDnet. I will try it later and if it works, I will let you know.
Thanks for all the replys.
