Hi guys..

I would like to know what is the best way to animate a belt that is around a monster's torso ..is it better to create the belt on the model or separate from it...
Is it better to use simcloth ..?

Please...if someone find any tutorial about it ..let me know

hey there, can you explain the type of animation you are trying to do with the belt?
Does it just have to follow the body's movement?
if you create the belt on the model you will not be able to animate it.. not sure what you are trying to do..

Sorry Pascaru,

Its like if I want my models to have these belts around the body to follow him ..you can see on this pictures. The monsters has got some belt arount the torso or hanging from the neck....
How would I created it to be more realistic..



I am using Maya 7.0...

hey there,
if you want them hanging, and animated, they should be seperate pieces.. so that you can animate them with deformers, dynamics, simcloth, whatever you want to use.

For the ones that are on the skin, i think you can get away with weighting them along with the body.. but it's best to model seperate pieces anyways, so you have more freedom later on.
