March 9, 2006 - Samus seems to attract some clout in Hollywood. Back a few years ago, Alex Proyos, director of Dark City, The Crow and I, Robot, directs the commercial for the original Metroid Prime GameCube title. Then John Woo steps forward and snags her film rights. Now, Nintendo has revealed that the commercial for Metroid Prime Hunters has wrapped, with Underworld director Len Wiseman running the project.
The Leo Burnett-produced 30 second television spot will begin airing on March 13th. The commercial opens in the middle of the night against a futuristic urban backdrop. A grave digger is excavating plots when he is informed by an LCD screen on a gravestone that another bounty hunter has been killed. In the next shot, a bounty hunter falls from the sky into the grave. The spot ends with the line, "More bounty hunters. More ways to die," demonstrating that the classic game (http://ds.ign.com/articles/694/694772p1.html#) has taken a new turn, now that you can play as various bounty hunters against people around the world.
Along with Len Wiseman's direction, Ntropic, the edit and special effects house for Underworld and Underworld: Evolution handled the role in this commercial.
