View Full Version : sweep nurb troubles

i have the hardest time with sweep nurbs in c4d. you think it's a simple straight forward thing, and the program just will not cooperate.

case in point:

i have an object made using 2 splines. link (

i need to delete the left most point, so the whole thing will now be straight, and instead the whole thing flips on me. i change the swept spline's plane, but it just screws up more.

how annoying. this kind of thing happens all the time. you move a point a little and sometimes while you are moving the point, the whole thing just starts flipping around and going crazy. twisting, rotating. seams simple enought to me.

how to tame this behavior? :shrug:

or - from top view - i move the point over manually - and can get it to line up.

if i precicely copy and paste the other points z coordinate, it gets all trashed.

a good way to avoid flipping is to use railsplines.

Not quite sure what your end purpose is
but you may not need 2 rails on this.
Try just using:
-constant cross section
-keep segments

In any event, works here.
