Hey, it'll soon be rendering time for my demo reel, and Im wondering how to go about creating Depth of Field in XSI 4.2?

Does anyone have a tutorial that they can point me towards?

As well, where as Im rendering animation, and not just a still image, Ill need a solution that can be applied to all frames at once.

XDOF is a commercial plugin available...

you can also use the dof shader in the D3 Shader pack...

You can also do it through the FXTree with a zDepth Pass.

Best bet is doing it in post via the fxtree or other compositor with a depth map, as Jdex mentioned. XDOF is a vert cool plug, but its not free, plus it pretty much messes up the render pass process as it does the efffect it in the renderer, atleast in post you have have all your passes and then apply the dof on top to the lot. The process is also faster in post too.

You can output zdepth data from each rendered frame with a click of a button, the only problem is that these have slight jaggies, best bet is to render out a seperate depth pass.
