View Full Version : playblast codecs

I'm wondering what codecs people use for playblasting and what the benefits of them are - any advice?

its a playblast, just use the most basic one. M$ video or indeo. Why does it matter?

MS video works fine. Really doesn't matter as beaker already said it. The only thing you have to watch out is that it is quick (some codecs can be very slow to encode) and that it allows frame by frame scrubbing. If you're trying to put it on the web for others to see then you better convert it into some more cross-compatible codec like Quicktime sorenson for instance.
