Here ( we go.
The world of gpu manufacturer again is getting smaller.

"ATI wants a piece of China, and XGI has just what the doctor ordered

Anton Shilov has a very through analysis of the ATI-XGI deal going down right now. Rather than outright buy the whole company, ATI bought Macrosynergy -- an alliance company under the XGI umbrella. The move is to expand the ATI name in mainland China (XGI is already well established there) while expanding the resources of ATI at the same time.

The report claims that "The acquisition will see approximately 100 Shanghai, China-based employees join ATI. An additional cadre of XGI employees in Santa Clara, California will relocate to ATI’s Santa Clara location."

XGI has struggled to gain a foothold in Western markets due to the near absolute stranglehold of high performance ATI and NVIDIA cards"
