View Full Version : weird spots using final gather ( max 8 )

im just trying to get my head round using hdri files to illuminate a scene in max 8 using mental ray. im kinda there, found the tutorials understand what im doing ( mostly ). however its coming out all spotty, i ve tried fiddling with the most obvious parameters in FG but nothing seems to change it - the pic was rendered with 500 samples ( went up to 1000 and still the same ).

any experts immediatly see the problem and can let me know

( and yes i know its a teapot on a plane :) )

try to blur your hdr file or turn up filter in fg might help
