View Full Version : Locking weights on a specific bone

03-03-2006, 04:29 PM
Does anyone know if there are any tools out there (I'm sure I saw something on scriptspot but can't find it now) which will allow me when painting vertex skin weights (to multiple bones) to lock the weights I have already painted on a specirfic bone and then adjust the weights for the other influencing bones?

Basically say I have three bones 'A' 'B' and 'C'. I have got joint 'A' influencing my vert to 0.6 and 'B' and 'C' are at 0.2 each. I want to lock the weight of 'A' at 0.6 but adjust the weights on 'B' and 'C' so that the weighting is still normalised but with 'A' retaining its 0.6 influence. I hope that makes some kind of sense!

Fingers crossed someone out there can help!

My fingers are hurting I'm crossing them so hard! I guess I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board!
