Well this is my first image in my first challenge, my idea is this, millions of years ago Giraffes were like cows, one day one of these 'midget giraffes' by chance looked up and realised there is a right feast in the trees, so starting their journey into what we know them today.

Better composition - fits the brief a bit better.

Very Lamarkian idea of yours. Cool. But this particular idea of a journey (subtle changes over a long period of time) is very hard to convey in a painting. Perhaps you can show both the beginning of the journey and the final result in one composition so that we understand there is a journey taking place. Otherwise, I'd suggest you paint pirates!
